The health of Uganda’s wetlands impacts everything from the livelihoods of surrounding communities to rates of gender-based violence. The proper management of this unique ecosystem can help address root causes of conflict while empowering women at the same time.
The course, which is the first of this kind under ESDC, is designed for mid-to-senior level decision makers and/or experts (civilians and military) from the EU Member States, EU Institutions and Agencies.

In the not so distant past, the people of Rwambu, Uganda faced shortages of water, crop failures and waterborne diseases. This was largely created by agricultural expansion and bad management of the wetlands.
