The Seminar for Food and Nutrition Security Coordination of the EU Delegations in Eastern and Southern Africa (CODESA) on 'Scaling up and delivering' took place in Harare, Zimbabwe, on 10-14 October 2016.

As soon as the seedlings are ready for planting, women in brightly coloured clothes wrapped at the waist load the new disease resistant varieties of coffee seedlings into the back of a truck. Developed at the Tanzania Coffee Research Institute, these small plants promise to increase coffee production while reducing costs of production for growers across the country and farmers can’t buy up the new coffee plants fast enough.

The Improving Forest Governance course is a 4-week, UK-based residential
course that covers a variety of forest governance issues. The course is
conducted in English, French and Spanish with simultaneous interpretation
and is taught by experienced tutors from the Centre for International
Development and Training, as well as leading international experts and
practitioners on forest governance, climate change, REDD+ and
multi-stakeholder processes from the UK and abroad. Participants are immersed
in training and benefit from high quality field trips, including visiting a
Chatham House Illegal Logging update meeting in London.
