The *3rd POLIMP Webinar* will discuss the current state of play regarding
proposals for a new EU climate and energy governance framework for 2030,
providing viewers with the context needed to better understand the debate.

*Paving the way for climate compatible development: Global Climate
Change Alliance (GCCA) experiences in climate change mainstreaming*
Climate change is a global challenge that affects every sector of the economy
and all societies. It is not only an environmental problem but also a
Mainstreaming climate change into development strategies is therefore one of
the main priorities of the Global Climate Change Alliance (GCCA).
The GCCA supports more than 35 countries and 8 regions, with an envelope of
over €285 million. Over the years, lessons learned from mainstreaming in
Cambodia or Mozambique have triggered similar efforts in Myanmar or the
This conference will provide an insight into the GCCA’s wide ranging
programmes across the globe, and the ways in which climate change is
integrated in national development processes.
Organised byCGIAR Independent Science and Partnership Council (ISPC) and UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA)
The ISPC Science Forum 2016 will rethink the pathways for agricultural
research to stimulate inclusive development of rural economies in an era of
climate change. The Forum will marshal evidence and build on lessons learned
to date, to suggest an updated list of priority research areas and approaches
which involve more strategic and inclusive engagement with partners.
This Infopoint Lunch-time conference will provide fresh insight and
provide new data on the role that land and forests play in reaching 1.5°C.On
the eve of COP22 there are still major unanswered questions about the role
that land and forests play in emissions reductions commitments. How to ensure
the long-term global goal recognises the need to reduce emissions from land
use change or even increase the carbon sink (negative emissions) while
respecting social and environmental limits to land-based mitigation? How to
ensure that removals of CO2 do not dilute ambition to reduce fossil fuel
Conference will present and discuss first results and experiences of the
Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production demonstration project implemented
by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) under the
EaP GREEN programme supporting the greening of economies in the eastern

The Africa Caribbean Pacific (ACP) Secretariat is pleased to announce that
the GCCA Intra-ACP Programme will hold its *First Regional Technical
Meeting *and the *Second Programme Steering Committee Meeting* on 16 - 17
July and 18 - 19 July, 2013 respectively, in Belize City, Belize.
The Policy Forum is going to take stock of the Lima Conference and the role
of the EU in Lima and beyond. Have countries made significant and sufficient
progress towards a sensible and effective Paris agreement? What has been the
impact of the joint announcement of China and the US in November 2014 about
their future climate action (if any)? To what extent has the *EU achieved its
main objectives in Lima*? *What priorities for global and EU climate
diplomacy in 2015* can be identified at the end of 2014?
Organised byEmbassy of France; World Resources Institute; Office for Science & Technology at the Embassy of France in the United States
France will host the Conference of the Parties (COP 21) in Paris from
November 30 to December 11 to reach an agreement that will put the world on
track to limit global warming to 1.5° or 2° C. Our capacity to feed 9.5
billion people in 2050 in a context of climate change will depend on our
ability to keep our soils alive. France is proposing to take concrete actions
to improve the health of soils by sequestering organic matter . More
information about this conference is available here .
