under-nutrition, micronutrient deficiencies and over-weight with a view to
achieving the global nutrition targets by 2025. The Conference will be the
first high-level intergovernmental conference on nutrition since the First

The First Conference resulted in a World Declaration and Plan of Action for
Nutrition which called on national leaders to develop National Plans of
Action for Nutrition and establish institutional infrastructure to implement
these plans.

Dear colleagues and friends,

The PCD Unit is hosting an online dialogue on PCD and Food Security on the
OECD PCD Platform [1] from Monday-Friday, 18-22 November.

We would like to have your view on how more coherent policies can lead to
global food security, how to address global trends shaping the economy with
an updated policy coherence for development (PCD) narrative, and what actions
you would like to see undertaken in order to achieve global food security.

This online dialogue is structured according to two overarching elements: 1)
policy coherence more generally and how PCD can address global trends shaping
the global economy; and 2) food security more specifically and what actions
should be undertaken to achieve global food security.

These elements will be spread over five sessions, from the 18-22 November
2013 as follows, with one session per day.

Day 1: Global trends and how they shape the global development landscape and
imply a change for current PCD approaches and the Post-2015 development
agenda;

Day 2: Coherence and how we can apply a PCD lens to the issue of global food
security;

Day 3: Global actions and how to create the conditions to improve food
security on a global level;

Day 4: National efforts and how governments and key stakeholders can shape
enabling environments for food security on a national level;

Day 5: Measuring progress for food security and how evidence-based analysis
can support policy making.
