The *Capitalization Seminar* targets grant beneficiaries (of Calls for Proposals 129200 and 129493) and will focus on capitalisation and exchange of experiences as well as on relevant management matters concerning finalisation and closure of projects. About 75 participants are foreseen.

Government, donor and civil society representatives from over 40 countries recently gathered in Monrovia, the capital of post-conflict Liberia, to discuss how donors can support peacebuilding and statebuilding in conflict–affected and fragile states.
Over 3,000 development officials have gathered in Busan, South Korea, this week for an important forum on aid effectiveness. According to Vice President of the World Bank Institute Sanjay Pradhan, who is attending the event, capacity development has yet to attain its full potential for changing societies.
To whom is a private sector consultant accountable, the donor paying their bill or the country to which they are providing technical assistance? Private sector consultants are widely used in managing and implementing Public Finance Management reform, yet questions of accountability, and consultants' role in influencing the reform agenda is under examined. 
Aleem Walji, Head of the Innovation Team at the World Bank Institute, explains how the bank has applied a knowledge-based approach in combination with new technologies to revolutionise capacity development.

A major cooperation programme to support the preservation of cultural heritage in Algeria has been launched. The programme is considered the biggest EU-funded project in this domain in the region.
