"The United Nations has always had lots of targets, goals, and  declarations. You probably didn’t know, for example, that 2014 is the International Year of Family Farming and the International Year of Crystallography—or that you are currently  living through the Decade of Action for Road Safety.

Social transfers and nutrition have received special attention in recent years as important components in the debate about development. New EU reference documents provide guidance on how social transfers can play an important role in improving nutrition outcomes. The authors affirm that there are many opportunities to do this. 
If you have ever been to Honduras, you will know that it is one of the greenest countries in Central America. Forestry has had a long history there and continues to be an important source of energy for the impoverished rural population, as well as maintaining a biologically diverse ecosystem. Over 50 percent of the country is covered in forests, which are also home to indigenous peoples.
