WASH stands for Water, Sanitation, Hygiene, and is one of the three main sectors of humanitarian operations (the others being food and health). Climate change has a growing and significant impact on WASH among vulnerable people.
The AMCOW Policy and Strategy for Mainstreaming Gender in Africa’s Water Sector was developed in the context of the African Union’s efforts to support gender mainstreaming, within development sectors including the water sector.
