Priorities for ending extreme poverty and promoting shared prosperity in Ethiopia. The World Bank 2016

This is a recent Systematic Country Diagnostic (SCD) done by the World Bank in Ethiopia. It  identifies the binding constraints to reducing extreme poverty and promoting shared prosperity in Ethiopia. The report points to lack of resilience to drought as one of the main eight binding constraints.

Analytical framework and binding constraints

Dear Luis,

Thank you for sharing this important document. I have to read the docment to provide detail comments on its importance and limitations. However, from the Figure ES.3, I can see that the analytical framework miss or didn't sufficiently consider one of the very basic binding constraint in ending extreme poverty in Ethiopia - 'Lack of good governance': such as lack of transparency, corruption, centralized systems, etc.
