ESDC course on the Challenges of European Cybersecurity
The ESDC Secretariat is pleased to invite you to the ESDC course on the Challenges of European Cybersecurity, 22-24 November 2017 in Brussels, organised by the Institute for Higher National Defence Studies (IHEDN, France).
At a time when cyber-attacks are multiplying and the European Union wishes to launch revisions of its cyber security strategies, this course will allow participants to become acquainted with diplomatic, institutional, legal and operational issues related to the mainstreaming of cybersecurity at EU level. This training will also seek to broaden the discussion by addressing all cyber security dimensions and will be based on concrete examples in close touch with topical events. This course will therefore aim at: understanding the notions and concepts related to cybersecurity; presenting the actors dealing with cybersecurity issues at the European level (European institutions and agencies, Member States) and their respective roles; identifying the challenges of cybersecurity at the European level and the way ahead in this field.
This training is open to civil servants and military personnel from EU Member States and EU institutions who are currently employed in positions dealing with cyber issues or willing to discuss and update their knowledge on these matters. Participants will have the opportunity to benefit from the know-how of experts of European institutions and Member States.
Deadline for registration is 3 November 2017.
The nomination of the suitable candidates from EU Member States, relevant EU institutions and agencies, CSDP missions and operations and EU Delegations should be done by the designated EU ENLIST Nominators using the ESDC secured registration system ENLIST https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/ENList/web/app.php/login.
