Acquired Experiences are presented after 20 years of working in the region
Lessons learned after 20 years of working relation to natural guaduales management were presented by the Positioning of Forest Governance Project in Colombia (PPGFC) during the 2nd International Symposium of Guadua and Bamboo "Consolidating Industry with Innovation and Sustainability".
The event, which takes place from August 4th to the 6th in Bogota, is organized by the Nacional University, Corpoica, and the Pontificia Javeriana University. They invited Rubén Darío Moreno, technical director of PPGFC, with the specific topic "Advances in natural guaduales forest management in Risaralda"
We can also say that bamboo, a non-timber species of tradition in the department and the coffee culture, is now a leading force in the production processes, which are examples at national and international levels. Therefore, CARDER, as leader of PPGF, was responsible for introducing the working scheme to promote forest law in relation to the management of these natural ecosystems and how some guidelines of the FLEGT Action Plan from the European Union have been applied of the Guadua.
The Positioning of Forest Governance Project is funded by the European Union and led by CARDER, in association with Corantioquia, Corpocaldas, CRC, Codechocó, Corponariño, Corponor, CRQ, Cortolima, Corpourabá, CVC, Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, Asocars and Aldea Global.
