Leasehold forestry in Nepal: restoring forests and livelihoods

Given the importance of forests for Nepal’s rural population and the need to stop their degradation, the Government of Nepal introduced new models of forest management aimed at being ecologically sustainable without compromising the lives and livelihoods of those who depended on the forest to live.
