FAO publication: Empowering rural women, powering agriculture

This new publication descibes FAO approach to achieve its objective of gender equality across food systems at all levels for attaining food security, nutrition and achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Women make up approximately half of the agricultural labor force and are agents of change and resilience builders. However, the gender gap in food and agriculture is still extensive.

"Leaving no one behind" requires closing thisĀ gender gap and giving women equal access to the resources and opportunities they need to be more productive.
