Report on ASEAN timber trade, customs and timber legality released

The EU FLEGT Facility has released ASEAN timber trade, customs and timber legality: Scoping study. Timber legality and its associated trade is a longstanding issue in South-east Asia. This scoping study documents ASEAN member state progress in developing National Single Windows; evaluates how harmonisation of ASEAN customs procedures and measures for trade facilitation can improve communication, control and promotion of timber legality; and recommends ways to improve documentation and reporting of timber legality and trade in legal timber in the region and to other markets.
