Invitation letter

1 June 2016

On behalf of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) I would like to invite you to an event at EU Development Days in Brussels on “Quick Wins for Climate and Development – Contributing to SDG Attainment by Reducing Short-Lived Climate Pollutants.” Details on speakers and addition information are in the flier attached.

Date:                     15 June 2016

Time:                     14:15-15:30

Location:              Debate D2, Tour & Taxis, Brussels

This event is an opportunity to learn more about how acting on short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) in key sectors has the potential to reduce projected warming by 0.6°C by 2050, avoid millions of premature deaths from air pollution annually, avoid millions of tonnes of annual crop losses, and increase energy efficiency, in addition to a host of other benefits.

We will make this event as interactive as possible, and encourage you to come and explore exactly how fast action to reduce SLCPs will contribute to the post-2015 Development Agenda, deliver on multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and play an important role in implementing the Paris climate change agreement – especially in reducing the rate of warming in the near-term.

If you would like more information, please feel free to visit www.ccacoalition.org or contact James.Morris@unep.org. Otherwise we look forward to welcoming you in Brussels.
