Train4dev (2011) Harmonisation, Decentralisation, Local Governance: Political Decentralisation and Political Economy Analysis

This participants’ kit explores the usefulness of political economy diagnostics for understanding decentralisation and local governance processes. It also looks at how domestic accountability works in decentralised contexts, and at the specific challenges decentralisation poses to donor support. The session closes off with a practical exercise on how to commission and manage political economy analysis at country level.
