International Conference on Sustainable Uses of Soil in Harmony with Food Security

This International Soil Conference 2015 will focus on five themes: soil information for supporting sustainable uses and management; integrated soil management and conservation for food security; role of soil ecology in relation to climate change and food security; innovative techniques and tools for soil resources inventories and appropriate management; and public participation, networking and policy implementation on land management. The conference, which is organized under the auspices of the International Year of Soils (IYS) 2015 and the Thailand Land Development Department’s Volunteer Soil-Doctor Program, aims to provide a platform for diverse stakeholders, including soil scientists, field-based extension workers, decisionmakers and land users, to share knowledge on appropriate technologies and soil management practices to enhance food security and conservation of the natural resource base.
