European Development Days 2016: Making coffee the first sustainable agricultural product

This session will bring together a diverse group of actors from across the sector to discuss the Sustainable Coffee Challenge. This new and dynamic coalition plans to track sustainability commitments made across the coffee sector, analyse these commitments and their results, build a shared understanding of sustainability, and push toward ambitious future commitments from industry players, governments and other stakeholders. The session will address how governments in large coffee consuming and producing countries can implement policies to encourage the adoption of market incentives for sustainable coffee trade and contribute to implementing the Sustainable Development Goals.
