European Development Days 2016: European contribution to global food and nutrition security

From

This session includes a panel with David Nabarro, Special Adviser on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and representatives from civil society, the private sector and the European Commission. Participants will react on the newest data on the European contribution to Global Food and Nutrition Security recently published in its second biennial report. The report sets out how the EU and its Member States are delivering on the policy priorities for food and nutrition security in developing countries, as agreed in 2013.

Key questions to be answered, in a highly interactive discussion with the audience, include: Is Europe doing enough to realise Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2, or should we do more? Is Europe effective in what it does, or should we do better? SDG 2 calls for the international community to end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture
