Fuelling exclusion? The biofuels boom and poor people's access to land

This study examines the current and future impacts of the increasing spread of biofuels on access to land in producer countries, particularly for poorer rural people. The study draws on a literature review, and on information provided by key informants. The report is organised as follows. The first section provides a short overview of trends in and drivers of biofuels production. Chapter 2 maps out the anticipated links between the spread of biofuel crops and land access. Chapter 3 discusses available evidence concerning these links, while the final Chapter 4 draws some conclusions and suggests ways forward.
