National Food and Nutrition Security Policy-Kenya

Kenya is frequently affected by food shortages and bouts of hunger and especially in the northern corridor.Although Kenya has the capacity to produce for its citizenry and export the surplus.this sad state of affairs is brought about by:i)unpredictable weather patterns and dependence on rain fed agriculture ii),inadequate food exchange/trade between times and/or places of abundant harvest on one hand, and those with deficit on the other;iii)poor infrastructure.

Thus the National Food & Nutrition Security Policy was developed by the Ministry of Afrriculture to address food insecurity in the country.
