Sustainable Agriculture - the competence-based management of smallholder farming systems (MOSA)

The training addresses the need of advisers and experts involved in rural development and natural resource management with the intention to better understand agro-pastoral livelihood systems as an integral part of a holistic approach to food and nutritional security.

The training will focus on the following

  • Changing ideas and current concerns about sustainable agricultural development in the context of climate changes
  • Maintenance of soil fertility and biodiversity in the context of sanitary challenges and plant protection
  • Rural livelihoods, labour conditions and socio-economic requirements
  • Water-economy and water management
  • Animal husbandary, manure and fodder-production
  • Ernergy demands and supply systems for energy-efficient agricultural production
