The course will be based on previously delivered GCCA training materials
“Mainstreaming Climate Change into National Development Planning and
Budgeting” [see http://www.gcca.eu/policy-dialogue-and-experience-sharing/mainstreaming-...
] as well as further materials. It will present the science of climate
change and the linkages between climate change and development, together with
approaches on the mainstreaming of climate change into national policies
and plans. The course will also examine climate change negotiations and
finance - including CDM – leading into discussions on REDD+. A
representative of the European Forest Institute (EFI) will present the
modules on REDD+, highlighting the potential benefits that this brings to
adaptation and wider development, as well as mitigation.
