This paper reviews recent and on-going EU experience in the design and implementation of budget support programmes benefiting EU partner countries that are vulnerable to climate change, particularly though the Global Climate Change Alliance (GCCA) initiative.
The GCCA+ flagship initiative has undergone over the last months a thorough independent global evaluation. The final report is now available. It will be used to refine and strengthen the GCCA+ action over the coming years. A summary of the evaluation and a french version are also available.
At the Pacific Climate Change Roundtable (PCCR), held in Samoa 12-14 May 2015, 190 climate change practitioners mainly from the Pacific region and also from the international arena, met to review the delivery of the Pacific Islands Framework for Action (PIFACC) over the period 2006 – 2015.
Representatives of African Small Island Developing States (SIDS) have convened in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 8th April 2015 for a two-day workshop to develop a collaborative framework to provide African SIDS with support to address the urgent challenges posed by climate change and
this brief paper from BRACED and ACCLIMATISE on the importance of financial services for climate resilience, is just food for thought for our colleagues from Ethiopia, Mali and Myanmar on which the paper is based, but also for other beneficiary countries.
