
Marcus Cornaro
Deputy Director General, DG DEVCO I joined the European Commission in September 2000, and worked for 3 years in Brussels at the Headquarters of the Directorate-General for External Relations, first as a Counsellor involved in the reform of EU external assistance programmes and then as a Head of Unit covering the two largest programmes in Asia. I left for Vietnam in August 2003, where I was Head of Delegation for 4 years. Back in Brussels in July 2007, I was appointed Director for Europe, Southern Mediterranean, Middle-East and Neighbourhood Policy at the EuropeAid Office. Most recently, in August 2012, I was appointed Deputy Director-General responsible for Coordination of Directorates E, F, G and H (DGA.2) at DG DEVCO. These four Directorates cover the European Union's geographic programmes in Africa, Neighbourhood, Latin America and Asia - altogether over 10 bio€ per annum.
