Strengthening resilience for food security and nutrition insecurity in Sahel

This briefing note provides a review of multisectoral programs to strengthen resilience targeted at the most vulnerable funded by the EU between 2014 and 2019 in seven Sahel countries affected by food and nutrition crises.

Note that alongside these programs, the EU finances other actions to build resilience through other channels: budget support enabling structural state reforms; support to governance mechanisms, through regional programs especially ; projects more specifically focused on nutrition, agricultural, pastoral development or creation job. An example is tyhe  promising practices emerging from the EC’s experience with the RESET (RESilience-building in EThiopia) programme.
