Call for proposals: Europe as a Global Actor

European Commission’s “Europe as a Global Actor” call is open to submissions until 28 May 2015.
The research and innovation action grant aims at promoting the European cultural heritage and science.

With the topic “European cultural and science diplomacy: exploiting the potential of culture and science in the EU’s external relations”, the grant’s goal is to analyze and compare EU and EU member states’ cultural relations with major third countries, regions and international organizations. The proposals should look into the evolutionary nature of cultural ties between Europe and specific countries and world regions, also from a historical perspective. The research is expected to provide a critical overview of the existing EU and Member State external cultural and science policies and explore incentives for joint action for achieving coordination.

The objective is to allow the EU to contribute to the global governance of culture and science.

Beneficiary countries: The member states of the European Union, and Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, and Tunisia, among others.

Who can apply: Legal entities and international organisations

Total call bugdet: €25,000,000

Requested EU contribution per project: Between € 1.5 and 2.5 million

The proposals must be submitted in the electronic submission system until May 28, 2015 deadline.
