Webinar: Greening budget and greening public finance management: Supporting National Partners in Prioritizing Environment and Climate Change Objectives

From

How can we support national partners in prioritising environment and climate change objectives? The EU Green Deal puts sustainable finance at the heart of the financial system, encourages public authorities to do green budgeting and procurement. But what does it mean in practice? What can we do to achieve it?

This is what you will find out in this webinar taking place on 1 December (10.00-12hrs CET): what it is about and what can be done.

The EU wants to become a global leader in setting standards for sustainable finance

Commissioner Mairead McGuinness said: “The financial system plays a crucial role in the delivery of the EU Green Deal, and significant investments are required to green our economy. Today's new rules are a game changer in finance. We are stepping up our sustainable finance ambition to help make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. Now is the time to put words into action and invest in a sustainable way.”

The webinar will explain you:

• Public Financing and Planning tools

• Country experiences from around the world

• The European Green Deal and opportunities for programming 2021-2027

This will provide you inputs on “greening”/mainstreaming and sustainable finance – particularly focusing on the EU priority on green financing and on the Green Recovery.

Colleagues working on very different topics are welcome!

The webinar, on 1 December is open to all EU staff working in delegations and at headquarters, dealing with cooperation areas related to circular economy and pollution, including private sector development, trade, economic integration, sustainable finance, employment, cities, environment and climate change, etc.
