Building on the EU’s domestic experience for an inclusive green economy
The EU has significant experience in promoting the green economy domestically, notably through its environment policy and the Europe 2020 growth strategy. To share this experience with international partners, the SWITCH to Green facility has compiled a series of case studies on its website.
Many of the initiatives put forward by the EU in this context focus on thematic issues that are also prioritised in international cooperation on the green economy, such as green jobs, green SMEs, sustainable consumption and production, eco-innovation, and resource efficiency. This offers scope for synergies, as well as lessons that can contribute to international cooperation actions on green economy.
