Then you can specify frequency of notifications via a drop-down list for each of them:

Group Notifications based on Membership
By becoming a Member of a Group, you are automatically subscribed to notifications. Basically, the frequency of these messages depends on the level of activity within that Group, and can be managed by each contributing author/editor. However, you can manage the frequency you want to receive these notifications via your "Settings" page, under the "Your group/project notifications" section:

Project / Programme Notifications based on following
If you want to stay informed about a particular initiative - you can follow a Project or Programme. The frequency of these messages is defined by the Project's administration team and focuses mainly on new items and/or important updates. However, like for any Group, you can manage the frequency you want to receive these notifications via your "Settings" page, under the "Your group/project notifications" section (see screenshot above).
Your follow notifications
You can also subscribe to individual items across the platform - to follow new items, subscribe directly from the content page. Then, you can manage the frequency you want to receive these notifications via your "Settings" page, under the "Your follow notifications" section.
How do notifications work?
New/Updated Content
Notifications are sent on an immediate basis - and can always be enabled/disabled by the author/editor at the end of each form. Contents that trigger notifications include: Wiki pages, Documents, Discussions (Groups), News (Projects/Programmes) and Events. By default, the switch to send a notification is checked for all newly created content; while any edits will display the box unchecked.
Comments
By posting a comment, a notification is sent to the author(s)/editor(s) of that content, as well as any other member who has already commented on that same page. Then, you can manage the frequency you want to receive these notifications via your "Settings" page, under the "Your comment notifications" section.
Recommendations
Whenever content you've created or edited is recommended, you will receive a notification that indicates the total number of recommendations for that content.
Sample Notification
Each notification will include an action performed by a member and a small teaser with a link to the content; the footer of each message will tell you where the subscription is coming from and offer the possibility to unsubscribe.
