Silvia Silvestri
I am an International Development and Socio-Economic expert with 15 years’ experience in partnerships management and management of projects that are complex, multidisciplinary, and involve a diverse network of stakeholders, such as civil society organizations, foundations, research institutions, Un agencies, governments and donors (USAID, EU, DfID, IFAD, IDRC, BMZ, DANIDA, WB, B&MG).
I am specialized in translating science into policy and needs into solution oriented policy insights.
Over the last 9 years I had overseas residences in Kenya and Rwanda (from where I very recently relocated to Paris) and I worked with international organizations across 13 countries in East, West and Southern Africa, with desk works conducted also in Asia. My multiple missions in Africa provided me with a solid knowledge of international development issues, programs and strategies, combined with a deep understanding of local realities and practices.
I am fluent in four languages and I have exceptional skills in facilitation, mediation and communication across different cultures and disciplines.
I have been involved in capacity building at different levels, by either targeting governments by providing technical assistance in enhancing capacity for sustainable use of resources, or by organizing and facilitating multilateral high level workshops, or by designing and delivering trainings and policy advise. I make use of my analytical and empathetic skills to facilitate stakeholders’ dialogues, contribute to strategic planning and lead sustainable changes by, either alone or through team work, connecting stakeholders and needs and by being a facilitator of key dialogues.
