
Mahesh Chandrasekar
Mahesh Chandrasekar is the International Policy and Campaigns Manager at Leonard Cheshire Disability since 2012. Mahesh is experienced in influencing international development cooperation to ensure it is inclusive of persons with disabilities in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. He also supports young people with disabilities in Asia and Africa to campaign for their rights and bring their voices to the attention of policymakers. He has worked extensively to manage community-based rehabilitation programmes in slums and rural India and organise and empower local disabled people's groups. He has a background in Sociology and Human Rights. He is Co-chair of the UN task group of the International Disability and Development Consortium and Co-chair of BOND Disability and Development Task Group.
