Adult education in the post-2015 agenda

We invite you to discuss non-formal and informal adult education in the context of the post-2015 agenda with us. Lifelong learning is a key for achieving social change and reducing poverty levels around the world and needs to be recognised not only as a goal, but also as a means of development.

A presentation by Prof. Timothy Ireland (University of Paraíba, Brazil) on 'Development and Education in the post-2015 Agenda' will serve as a basis for discussion. Together with colleagues from CONCORD Europe and DG DEVCO, we will also take a look at the role of adult education in the European Year for Development 2015 and the EU strategies on adult education and development in the post-2015 process.

The workshop will serve as a platform for exchange of experience and expertise in order to create a strategy plan for adult education and development in the post-2015 agenda.
