New FAO-EU FLEGT Programme project launched in collaboration with Guyana Forestry Commission: Raising awareness about timber legality among Indigenous Communities in Guyana

For the past couple of years, Indigenous Communities in Guyana have struggled to comply with requirements set out in the Guyana-EU VPA. To address this, the FAO-EU Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) Programme has supported GFC to assist 23 indigenous communities engaged in commercial logging to better understand and implement the regulations in place.
