International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2015 - Opening speech by Commissioner Mimica:

Opening Speech delivered by Commissioner Mimica for the Conference "Leave no-one behind: Tackling inequalities of persons with disabilities in the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda". The conference was co-organised by EuropeAid, the European Disability Forum (EDF), the International Disability and Development Consortium (IDDC) and CONCORD to celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The conference stressed the EU's commitment to promote the human rights and social inclusion of persons with disabilities through its external action, and provided an opportunity for discussion among EU decision makers, staff and relevant stakeholders, particularly disabled persons' organisations, about the way forward for implementing the Concluding observations of the UN Committee related to development cooperation in the SDG framework.
