Cornerstones of a Marshall Plan with Africa

I think this kind of programs, though necessary and excellent, should not be called Marshall, in reference to the post-WWII american rebuilding program of Europe. Easy to find an appropriate name.

Cornerstones of a Marshall Plan with Africa

The claim of infrastructure and future for Africa is an honest one. We therefore launched a proposal for 8 new funds to finance infrastructure and SME entrepreneurship in Africa with a total of € 70 billion: https://developmentfinance.un.org/sites/developmentfinance.un.org/files/...

In January 2021, Italy has published a policy document “A Partnership with Africa”. It is clearly aligned with #EUAfricaStrategy”, but also it does articulate the same basis of the partnership: “Partnership between equals”. About the group

This group is established to promote, to support and to inform about EU development strategy and programmes with Africa. Since 2020 EU has adopted new approaches that focus on working with Africa to replace old donor-recipient paradigm of delivering programs for Africa. While the EU is stepping up its #EUAfricaPartnership through #EUAfricaStrategy new challenges were added by the Covid 19 pandemic. EU has reaffirmed cooperation with African Union to promote resilience, migration management, gender equality, peace & economic development in Africa. Synergies are also sought with the ongoing Third Industrial Development Africa #IDDA3 programme of the United Nations.
