The current migration crisis in the Mediterranean is a stark reminder of the human cost of conflict. Conflicts have become more difficult to resolve, and the transition for affected countries to greater socio-economic development has become more difficult and costly.
Recent discussions around the post-2015 development agenda have highlighted that many of the 169 targets require better clarification. In some cases, the connection between the targets and the goals need to be better articulated.
