EC advanced seminar DLG 2012_Session 3.0 Key lessons from Day 2

This presentation delivered by ECDPM wraps up the disucussions held by participants during the second day of the EC Advanced seminar on supporting decentralisation and local governance.  It highlights the need for donors to apply political economy analysis and to adapt their way of operating accordingly, notably by: adopting a different time perspective, supporting local agenda-setting processes, exiting deterministic planning culture ex ante, reviewing levels of ambition, improving capacity to be flexible and seize windows of opportunity and to engage with all relevant actors, even if they are weak, and reducing the gap between the field and HQ.
