Expanding Economic Opportunities of Women Farmers and Entrepreneurs - IFPRI2020 Conference proceedings

The Caribbean Network of Rural Women Producers (CANROP) was formally launched in 1999 as a response to the need to equip women with technical, administrative and entrepreneurial skills as a mean of improving their socio-economic status and creating employment in the rural areas in which they live. Presently, CANROP’s regional affiliations include: Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St Kitts, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago. Ms. Carmen Nurse, President of Caribbean Network of Rural Women Producers (CANROP) presented the role of Women Farmers and Entrepreneurs in her communication on "Expanding Economic opportunities of women farmers and entrepreneurs" in May 2014, at the IFPRI2020 Conference, during a side-meeting organised under the framework of the Intra-ACP APP programme.
