Negotiation and mediation is part of all our professional and personal lives. This course will allow participants to explore these skills and to develop a personal capacity to be more effective in conflict resolution. It is open to civilian and military personnel from the EEAS, EU‐Member States, EU Institutions and agencies, CSDP missions/ operations staff, candidate states and selected third countries.

This highly interactive training will teach students to negotiate for themselves as well as how to use the mediation process (which also includes negotiation) to help other parties prevent, manage and resolve conflict.

The course will be preceded by a mandatory eLearning preparatory module.

Applications from EU Member States are to be filed via the ESDC secure internet system ENLIST (https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/ENList/web/app.php/login) by designated nominators.

Applications from other than EU Member States should be sent to secretariat-esdc@eeas.europa.eu indicating:

  • full name of the candidate
  • personal e-mail address (functional mailboxes will not be accepted)
  • institution
  • reason how this course benefits applicant

The deadline for nominations is extended to 21 April, 2016. Registration will not be final until confirmed by the ESDC Secretariat.
