The United Nations Development Programme's Governance Assessment Portal http://www.gaportal.org/ is a virtual resource centre for indicators, assessment frameworks and country studies.
Set up as an information hub for UNDP staff and other stakeholders in governance issues, the site offers data, articles, tools, statistics and case studies on measuring democratic governance.
Through the site, users can get in contact with international experts and initiatives. A host of practical information is available too. For example, you can learn how to:
- develop an index to monitor performance of public administration, sectors and services,
- where to find surveys for evaluating corruption,
- how to conduct a baseline for democracy,
- when to advocate for evidence-based policy reform on local governance and decentralisation in your country, and more.
