Description
The Air-Q-Gov project supports Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation and Ukraine to tackle the challenges those countries face with the increase of air pollution emissions.
In particular, the project supports the countries in their efforts to:
- Improve air quality legislation, strategies, regulations and bring them closer to the European Union policy principles and approaches.
- Increase capacity to implement multilateral environmental agreements and conventions, mainly, the Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution and its Protocols.
- Raising public awareness about air quality issues, including promotion of regional and sub-regional cooperation and through the involvement of civil society and the private sector.
The target groups of the project included national and local government organizations/ agencies responsible for air quality assessment and management for air pollution control as well as population living in the Partner Countries.
