Delivering development aid through case reporting

If Human development is defined as the process of enlarging people’s freedoms and opportunities and improving their social justice, economic and environmental well-being, citizens have to participate, and decide worldwide who to be, what to do, and how to live individual and together to reach social justice, economic and environmental well-being of our globe. Therefore local citizens need to play a great role in the development aid delivering process.

The NGO Knowledge For Development Without Borders (KFDWB)  with Headquarter in Vienna has assigned the role and the responsibility to empower local Citizens so that they know their roles, responsibilities, and engagements in the achievement  and  in the improvement of the results of the MDGs and the forthcoming SDGs.

Through our field Operations Program and Support we are compiling development aid support requests as a list of needs that potential donors can see for actions..

Identification and reporting of the case through local citizens

"Better information and knowledge universally accessible via a central database and useful will help governments, International agencies,  the private sector and CSOs track and monitor human development frustrations, challenges, needs, progress and make sure their decisions, interventions and investments are evidence-based; they can also strengthen accountability". - See more at: http://capacity4dev.ec.europa.eu/aid-support

The key approach being taken through delivering development aid through case reporting is to mobilize local citizens, and to develop an integrated central database capable of recording earlier information and knowledge on the ground according to the economic, social and environmental frustrations and problems local citizens are facing each day and to make these universally accessible via a central database and useful to development organizations and local and national responsible bodies in order to highlight and alleviate the problems at a community level to reach the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the forthcoming Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Building the case study

KFDWB can provide development agencies, social entrepreneurs, funding agencies, banks, local government etc. with a full 'case study' for any of the support requests shown in the table of summary requests for development aid we have received in our database.

Some examples of full Development Case Studies (DCS) are provided on DCS which include the following: a review of all previous relevant local, national and international reports, knowledge of previous and/or current donor funding and their objectives, the actual situation on the ground with respect to funding, testimonials from local community members, leaders/administrators, resource persons, media reports, and photographic and/or video evidence.

Advantages

More sensitivity to the causes of the marginalised people. The voices of the voiceless are counted.

Capacity building from the ground up and driven by local communities, Support from, development agencies regional authorities, national,  international governments and NGOs.

Not only funding, training, and hands-on assistance, but assistance in collaboration with neighboring communities, in leveraging economies of scale, and in reducing wasteful duplication and redundancies in investment.

A best way of engaging local citizens to understand which human development challenges they are facing and try to resolve first these challenges locally, and/or raise a ticket about their problems, challenges, frustrations etc. that they live with every day of their current existence via a coordinated database so that foreign human development aid will not still encounter sociocultural, socio-political, socio economic and environmental context resistances....

The efforts of development agencies, NGOs, social entrepreneurs, banks, private and public institutions and local and central governments are enhanced a long term when they are receiving accurate information, knowledge and feedback in real time for better decision making and timely intervention.

The development of a suitable social mechanism support worldwide that connects a global audience to necessary resources while providing a central global support system to make development issues and best practices available to all, and to translate the available goals, data, information and knowledge into sustainable local best practices via networking.

The mobilization, motivation, encouragement and engagement of local citizens without distinction in sustainable development activities to address their own daily human development challenges and frustrations by reporting, and/or raising a ticket about the economic, social and environmental problems they are facing so that human development engagements, interventions, researches and resources must be efficiency targeted and focused.

The access to a central global coordinated central database universally accessible 24x7 to all that has accurate information and knowledge, and a reporting system on the ground for effective decision making interventions.

The human development issues and best practices on the ground are in real time evaluated and monitored.

Conclusion

The Delivering development aid through case reporting could not replace the traditional development aid cooperation. But supporting this initiative will improve the results of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and forthcoming Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that address the challenges of economic development, social inclusion, environmental sustainability, and good governance.
