Live Discussion on remote learning: Challenges and opportunities in the VET Sector posed by the COVID-19 pandemic

This is the second in a series of online round-table conversations between various EAfA stakeholder groups discussing topics of interest on the subject of apprenticeships, taking place on 17 June, 11:00 – 12:15 CEST

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the way we work and learn in unprecedented ways. A Global Survey was jointly launched by several key international and regional stakeholders, including the European Alliance for Apprenticeships, in order to better understand the impact of the outbreak on the training and development of employees, apprentices, and interns, the good practices that have emerged from this challenge and what policies should be implemented in the future to address them.

During this Live Discussion, experts from key agencies involved in shaping policy and practice in Europe will discuss:

• The main challenges faced in maintaining the training of apprentices during the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe and its neighbourhood countries

• The steps taken by key agencies to help VET providers and employers adapt to these challenges and the measures still needed

• Examples of good practices on how to ensure continuous provision of quality VET in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic

• The adjustments that will need to be made to VET provision after the crisis.
