Adana Governorship is the chief civilian administration of the city. Adana Governorship carries out projects via EU and Foreign Relations Coordination Centre. The Centre wants to set up and develop international cooperation between European NGOs and public institutions in order to produce projects; to develop the institution capacity; to create possibilities for interactions within local society; to improve intercultural dialogue; to enable the youth have volunteer experiences in another culture and encourage them in their personal development.
The Centre is very motivated to support young people for European Volunteer Service, in order to contribute to development of solidarity and promotion of active citizenship and mutual understanding among young people. The Centre is aware of the benefits of involvement of the youth in any kind of volunteer activities, so the Centre wants to organize activities where volunteers would be more motivated to involve in EVS. The Centre strongly believes that volunteer services broaden young people's horizon and enable them to see the world with wider perspectives.
The Centre recently organized two seminars on Lifelong Learning Programme and Youth in Action Programme in December 2011. By this organization we realized that young people want to know more about Youth in Action Programme and take part in EVS. The Centre now wants to organize Actions Days where young people can learn more about each Actions in Youth in Action Programme. Actions Day aims to improve the knowledge in application and implementation processes of each Actions in Youth in Action Programme.
Adana Governorship is the chief civilian administration of the city. Adana Governorship carries out projects via EU and Foreign Relations Coordination Centre. The Centre is established under the Provincial Directorate of City Planning and Coordination which coordinates the activities among other Provincial Directorates. Therefore, the Centre encourages to develop partnership among all the project offices of Provincial Directorates and other public bodies in the City for national and EU projects. The Centre coordinates the activities for promotion of EU projects in the city. Besides this primary goal, the Centre organizes activities for increasing the awareness in EU grants and other possibilities in EU for local society and young people. Five qualified civil servants actively work in the Centre, most of the staff speaks English.
