"Cultures of the World" Foundation is an organization established by former volunteers of international projects taken in different countries all over the world. Since the beginning we are managing international volunteering projects (financed through Polish Aid Program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland). Taking into consideration our personal achievements and experience of the organization we are planning to establish âoInternational Volunteering Program" within "Cultures of the World" Foundation. Some of us have EVS experience mostly in short-term projects and camps taken in last three years in Europe and Caucasus (eg. Workcamp in Tkibuli organized in Summer 2011 in Orpiri village). We know aim and objectives of Youth in Action Program. We think that the cooperation in the framework of EVS Action will be successful and fruitful for both sides and what is the most important for Volunteers, young people benefiting of our projects.
"Cultures of the World" Foundation aims at intercultural learning/teaching through global development education projects, development cooperation, expeditions and research projects, as well as social campaigns and cultural initiatives. It was established in 2009 in Warsaw, Poland by few young and dynamic people experienced in work in international projects managed in Kenya, Tanzania, Brazil on professional and volunteer basis. The aims of the organization are: to promote knowledge about the culture and daily life in other countries; to act in favor of organizations with the following statute aims: research, scientific and technical activity, education and cultural activity, health care, environmental protection in other countries, especially the least developed; to promote volunteerism.
For instance "Cultures of the World" Foundation activities are mainly focused on international cooperation with developing and in-transition countries and global education projects in Poland. We have conducted a big development cooperation project in Senegal (2011), and managed volunteer initiatives taken in Brazil (2009), Cameroon (2010, http://zkoscierzynydokamerunu.blogspot.com/) and Cambodia (2011, blog of volunteer: http://az-i-ja.blogspot.com/) – last two were financed through Polish Aid Program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. Currently we are planning to establish the "International Volunteering Program". We have partner organizations in Europe: Romania, Czech Republic, Belgium, and over Europe: Georgia, Tanzania, Cambodia, Ethiopia and other countries. Our partners are different organizations / institutions. They provide help and assistance to local communities, children, youth and adults in different areas, education, healthcare, community development and other.
Members of the board and the board of audit combine their work in Foundation with academic careers. They are teaching at Warsaw University of Life Science, Warsaw University and Warsaw School of Economics.
