Chisinau is the capital and the largest municipality of Moldova. It is also its main industrial and commercial centre and is located in the middle of the country, on the river BA®c. According to January 2011 official estimates, Chisinau has properly a population of 664,700 and the municipality of Chisinau is home to 789,500 residents. Chisinau is the most economically prosperous locality in Moldova, and its largest transportation hub. As the most economically and socially important municipality in Moldova, the city has a broad range of educational facilities and offers a variety of opportunities for the students, either in private or public sector. "AIESEC Chisinau" focuses on the market's needs when developing new projects for the students, having activities in areas such as Education or Entrepreneurship.
The city is home to 12 public and 11 private universities, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, as well as a number of institutions offering both high school education, as well as 1–2 years of college education. Many modern-style buildings were built in the city since 1991. There are also a lot of offices and shopping complexes that are modern, renovated or newly built; including Kentford, SkyTower, Malldova and Union Fenosa headquarters. However, the old Soviet-style clusters of living blocks are still an extensive feature of the cityscape.
As far as Chisinau is the biggest city in the country and also considered to be the live metropolis of Moldova or the economical nodule, there are a lot of NGOs but a lot more young people. A good part of this thing is that a lot of NGOs are working with youth and a small part are concerned with other target groups but still, their activities are narrow, without the international dimension. Considering these aspects, being EVS accredited, "AIESEC Chisinau" would create the opportunity of working on these problems. In this way, there could be a greater impact in the community through programs developed in cooperation with other NGOs, while involving more students, both Moldovian and foreigners.
The accommodation for volunteers is usually represented by flats rented, but if they are working in summer camps they live in the same conditions, in houses as the children do, having their own room. The same thing is happening with the food, being provided by the summer camp. The transportation is daily provided by the local authorities, without any delays. When the volunteers need to direct to other cities, "AIESEC Chisinau" manages always to find the bus or a car to realise it. AIESEC Chisinau, grace to a big number of members and alumni will help the EVS volunteers to know better Moldova and Chisinau, taking him in different trips, organizing barbecues or just hanging out in the city, playing bored games or bowling or other stuff that young people do.

VOLUNTEER PROFILES AND RECRUITMENT PROCESS
HR (Human Resources) Department evaluates organisation's members and EVS volunteers at each stage of their development and ensures a qualitative relation between all the members and their leaders or coordinators. This department is going to ensure an open and transparent EVS recruitment process since they organize annually two organizational recruitment processes (spring and fall) when new members join the organization. They will interview the prospects on skype, will analyse their CVs and application forms and will hold interviews with the potential volunteers.
Volunteers need to behave correspondingly to their age and to the level of education mentioned in their Application Form or CV, be open-minded, flexible, have a sense of reality, be mature, have initiative and motivation to be involved in different projects. In this way ability to adapt to new cultures, changes, ways of life is one of the main sought characteristics, furthermore the willingness to explore new horizons and things, find alternative solutions to daily problems.
The first step of the recruitment of EVS participants is promotion of this opportunity through different sites, AIESECers blogs, etc.. After receiving their Application forms and their motivational letters, the HR department will manage 2 rounds of interviews through which they will find out who are the most suitable volunteers for EVS according to criteria as motivation, flexibility, desire to discover new cultures and others.
After knowing the specifications for the volunteer, the selection process is an open one, meaning that all the requirements are public; the selection process follows specific rules established before the opening of the position. All these are public, open and respect both the organization's rules as well as EVS`s. "AIESEC Chisinau" is opened for all young people that strive to do something good for society, that strive to make the world better. A requirement is that they need to be over 18, We are not discriminating NGO, so that all the volunteers can feel free to apply ."AIESEC Chisinau" will mostly cooperate with youth organizations, NGOs and even schools.
RISK PREVENTION, PROTECTION AND SAFETY
The risks linked with the environment and Moldova's geographical background are minor because from this point of view, Chisinau is situated in a region with no climate disorders, no earthquakes and with normal annual temperatures in both Winter and Summer.
"AIESEC Chisinau" has a Reception team, part of the ambassadors team which is taking care of incoming volunteers. They are concerned with finding optimal locations for the volunteers, responsible for their cultural integration and safety. This team ensures that the volunteer has a safe place to stay before arriving to Chisinau, as well as regularly checking their status during their stay. One important detail is that the volunteers are advised regarding law and safety stipulations, are instructed considering things they can do and those they cannot, specific areas of the town that could pose certain threats, the regular hours during which they are relatively safe. More over, "AIESEC Chisinau" is having implemented a very effective buddy system which implies that each volunteer will have a personal buddy who will supply him with the needed information, tools and kits, will guide him whenever s/he will need that. Consequently, buddy is the second responsible person for the volunteer, who will explain all logistical issues, visa registering bureaucracy stuff. The volunteer has the right and obligation to contact his buddy each time he has a misunderstanding, in this way to avoid or clarify the problem. Besides, "AIESEC Chisinau" regularly carries out feedback sessions for its members, teams, departments, so will happen with EVS volunteers who will be surveyed weekly. HR department will take care to organize stress management trainings and SWOT analysis for each volunteers' issue. One more thing is the fact that "AIESEC Chisinau" will stay in touch with the sending organisation and will report once in a month the volunteer's current situation.
As hosting organization "AIESEC Chisinau" will not host young people with the age under 18. Of course, each participant will have the EVS insurance in case of accidents or other health problems and they can be sure that AIESEC will help them both emotional and financial if needed in order to solve the issues. As we cooperate with universities we can offer psychological assistance if the volunteer will pass through some uncomfortable situations and our help as an organization won't be sufficient.
AIESEC is a very big organization, because we maintain the contact not only with active members but also with those who are AIESEC alumni, that's why we will ensure that the volunteer spend his time with distinct interesting people and we'll show him/her our culture, historical places etc. EVS volunteers will also have language lessons organized by the EVS coordinating team, once per week, in order to solve the language barrier problem, but also in the guide given them when arrive there are the most important phrases that they need.
Following the strict guidelines regarding support and supervision requirements (e.g. health & safety) each volunteer will be informed and their mentor will be aware of the risks in case of their existence. During the service the volunteers will have regular contact by phone & email and internet with the project leader of their Sending Organisation at least once per month. Therefore the volunteer will have all contact details (e-mail, telephone number, post address) of the sending organisation as well as the sending organisation will have all contact details of the volunteers in the hosting country. This is to ensure that arising problems can be discussed when they occur and problem solving actions can start immediately.
The "AIESEC Chisinau" is able to host up to 3 EVS volunteers at the same time. The organization is not able to work with short-term EVS groups nor with volunteers with fewer opportunities.
AIESEC Chisinau is a non-governmental, not-for-profit and politically independent organisation, part of AIESEC International - the world's largest student-run organisation. Focused on providing a platform for youth leadership development, AIESEC offers young people the opportunity to be global citizens, to change the world, and to get experience and skills that matter today through the eXchange programme, in which volunteers have the opportunity to develop personal and proffesional competences by beeing involved in NGOs projects in different countries on Development and Education areas.
Our organization does not have any previous experience with EVS, but has experience in working with foreign volunteers through the eXchange programmes it develops. Having an EVS accreditation would increase the opportunities of other youngsters, both from Moldova and other countries to develop themselves in a new environment, AIESEC being both a hosting and sending organization.
Our motivation to participate in EVS is inspired by our wish for a greater impact as a youth NGO whose vision is "Peace and fulfilment of humankind's potential". Through European Voluntary Service AIESEC Chisinau, as a facilitating organization, would empower a prominent part of the youth to live international volunteering experiences thus contributing to a culture to culture inter relationship and to cross cultural knowledge, elimination of stereotypes and of cultural barriers. Volunteering is a priority of "AIESEC Chisinau" NGO.
Goals of the organization go in line with certain priorities and objectives of the Youth in Action program; mainly encouraging youth participation and youth mobility. We believe we would achieve our aims or many other NGOs', public groups objectives and bring them to a greater effect if we host EVS volunteers or we would help many Moldovan young people learn and practice at an international level by being a Sending Organization. As we present the positive example of a social responsible organization of civil society and will present good practices of the EVS volunteers efforts in our organization, we would convince many other youngsters of the value of volunteering as a European priority.

It is officially registered in 2008 but its existence may be registered since 1999 when three young pioneers opened AIESEC organization in Moldova.
AIESEC provides its members with an integrated development experience comprised of leadership opportunities, international internships and participation in a global learning environment. Per year,"AIESEC Chisinau" is organising around 10 projects for youth (high school pupils, 1st year students, last year students, post graduates, young entrepreneurs) with the secondary purpose - bringing foreign volunteers to take part on those projects and sending Moldavian volunteers to take part on similar activities in other countries (either AIESEC countries or non-AIESEC countries), in order for them to develop personal and professional knowledge, gain international experience, cross-cultural knowledge. The requested period is from six weeks to twelve months
Our growing physical and virtual reach makes us the most credible and diverse global youth voice. We are recognized across sectors as the first-choice partner for our ability to develop responsible and entrepreneurial leadership. Our collaborative environment empowers every member to live a high-quality AIESEC experience, creating a cross-generational positive impact on society. Our general activities are based on non-formal and informal education, with a structured learning process each AIESEC member goes through, called the AIESEC Experience. It consists in four complete programmes that are defining the diverse environment each member is embracing:
- Team member programme. It is one of the most crucial ways in which members start on their path towards leadership development .In this phase they are introduced to a practical team experience, gain access to a global network and engage in practical hard skills development.
- Team leader programme. This experience culminate in their personal and professional development through the concept of teambuilding and management. Team leaders get to experience leading other members and guiding them in their work, thus becoming a crucial part of their development.
- Global internship programme. This programme offers internships that contribute to the professional development of a member and assist them to specialise in a certain field of work. They are normally long term in nature and involve working on diverse business projects and organisations.
- Global community development programme. International internships are the most intense learning experience we offer and links together our global network. This programme encompasses cross-cultural positive impact through working abroad for social and community development projects that lead to self development and skill enhancement for the member undertaking the programme.
Each year, our organization is setting two or three main issues that are more stringent, and which serve as base for our projects. For the period 2010-2011 the issues are Education and Entrepreneurship, that is, our eight projects are organized mainly for solving these issues and responding to the Moldovan youth’s needs. Our target group consists in high school pupils, undergraduates and post-graduates, young entrepreneurs and NGO leaders.
