Motivation and EVS experience

The „Participation for All” is an International network of youth organisations and NGOs working with young people, youth workers and professional groups as well as individuals in multicultural societies of European and Asian countries. The aim of the network is to promote active citizenship, to foster development of active civil society and increase participation of young people in public life.
Young people living in Latvia-one of the multicultural countries are very important and valuable for our society, but still known economic, health and social problems exist, which prevent possibility for young people to be involved in social life, to be competitive at the labour market and to be involved in the process of education, particularly strong the situation is faced by young people with fewer opportunities.
Helping volunteer to be involved in voluntary work, our organization implements its main aim, thus, developing active citizenship, social inclusion and participation of young people in public and economic processes, giving possibility to become independent, personally developed, to open another, different cultures and languages. This experince will also strengthen the sense of responsibility and initiative of young people which will help in the future to be competitive at the labour market and to be involved into the public life, to contribute to widening of possibilities of other young people, the work of organization and development of youth policy of the country.
The preparation, coordination and administration of the project, preparation of volunteer and all needed for organizing his/her travel, service and learning, as well as further support of volunteer during the project and after, cooperation with partner organisations give possibility for our organization to develop organizing skills, partnership and cooperation skills and experience of international projects.
It is very important for the organization to have new ideas in order to widen the number of activities to increase the interest of young people and to involve them into youth work. By sending volunteers to work in different environments, we believe that when coming back volunteer have new ideas about innovations in the work of organization, activities and projects, which realize the collaboration, solidarity, inclusion, initiative, and the creation of the youth policy inside and outside the country. It gives us also the opportunity to contribute to the development of the society of the country of partner organisation and mutual understanding between people coming from different countries, develop partnership and expand the network of partners.
The member organisations of the network and staff have experience in coordination and implemention of sending EVS projects in the frames of the European Union Youth/Youth in Action programme with different countries of EU and Eastern European countries.

Description of the organisation

The „Participation for All” is an International network of youth organisations and NGOs working with young people, youth workers and professional groups as well as individuals in European and Asian countries. The network has branches in 11 countries. The aim of the network is to promote active citizenship, to foster development of active civil society and increase participation of young people, particularly those with fewer opportunities, and marginalised and minority groups in public life.
The target group of the organization is composed of young people, their parents, youth leaders, youth workers and others interested in activities of the network, independently of their educational, social, cultural, ethnical, physical and other background. The activities of the organisation are based on the approaches of non-formal education, experiential and intercultural learning, social inclusion and active participation. The activities include but are not limited to: networking and cooperation; educational projects of different types (e.g. training courses, seminars etc); awareness raising and policy development; capacity building of youth organisations and organisations/institutions working with young people and youth workers; coaching of initiatives, organisational and individual coaching; personal and professional development; mobility.
The staff of the organization consists of youth workers who are working in the organization on voluntary basis. The group of 4 regular volunteers is the core of the organization in Latvia, besides that there are many youngsters and youth workers who support and are involved in the activities of our organization.
