Motivation and EVS experience

AIESEC Lietuva Kauno filialas further "AIESEC Kaunas" is a non-governental, not-for-profit and politically independent organisation, part of AIESEC International - the world's largest student-run organisation. Focused on providing a platform for youth leadership development, AIESEC offers young people the opportunity to be global citizens, to change the world, and to get experience and skills that matter today through the exchange programme, in which volunteers have the opportunity to develop personal and proffesional competences by beeing involved in NGOs projects in different countries on Development and Education areas.
Our organization does not have any previous experience with EVS, but has experience in working with foreign volunteers and exchange participants through the exchange programmes it developes.
Getting an EVS accreditation would increase the opportunities of other youngsters, both from Lithuania and other countries to develop themselves in a new environment, will support young people taking part in volunteering activities abroad. Having an EVS accreditation will help for AIESEC to spread the idea for youth about voluntary job opportunities abroad, also will help them to find a good practise after the studies connected with their interests field.
Motivation of participating in EVS is based on idea to spread the volunteering opportunities for youth and also to fulfill AIESEC vision "Peace and fulfilment of humankind's potential" and have a greater impact on society as successful NGO.
EVS accreditation will help to realize AIESEC Kaunas potential as the most successful sending organisation and will contribute to AIESEC vision fulfilment. Volunteering opportunities promotion is one of AIESEC Kaunas exchange priorities.
AIESEC Kaunas is an open organisation for all volunteers, who wants to join our activities. We will include all volunteers from Kaunas , to ensure perfect fullfilment of EVS accreditation. AIESEC will interact youth from all organisations, not only AIESEC Kaunas members .
AIESEC Kaunas goals also aline with some priorities of Youth in Action program. For example: Participation of young people. For the program and for organisation is important the involment of youth and being active. Moreover, cultural diversity is one of our values. We consider respecting people’s cultural origins as one of our the main priorities. AIESEC Kaunas ensure the tolerance and integration through exchange programs.
AIESEC Kaunas is presented as positive and social responsible organisation and will show the greatest results of EVS in our organisation, AIESEC Kaunas will bring the positive view for youth and will be able to raise the value of volunteering as European priority. EVS accreditation will help for organisation to make a huge step towards making an impact on society.

Description of the organisation

AIESEC is a global, non - political, independent, not-for-profit organization run by students and recent graduates of institutions of higher education. Present in over 110 countries and with over 60,000 members AIESEC is the world largest youth-run organisation. Its members are interested in world issues, leadership and management. AIESEC does not discriminate people on the basis of race, color, gender, sexual orientation, creed, religion, or nationality. AIESEC has 60 years of experience in developing high-potential youth into globally minded responsible leaderer.

Our members are part of an exciting, driven global network. They are able to contribute to societal change while exploring their own vision for a positive impact on society.We are supported by thousands of partner organisations around the globe who look to AIESEC to support the development of youth and to access top talent through our global internship program. In AIESEC Kaunas works volunteers, who are elected for an Executive Board, also coordinators, who have a teams for projects and for selling. Each year there is a selection for new members in AIESEC Kaunas. To increase youth impact in the world, we see that society needs leaders who are entrepreneurial, culturally sensitive, socially responsible and take an active part in their own learning. To gain a holistic experience AIESEC offers you the opportunity to take on a leadership role before or after your internship. Learn how to lead a team, manage large projects and run a local or national organization along with people all over the world. The selection process aims to ensure that everyone participating in an AIESEC exchange is suitable, will have a positive experience while on exchange and new members are motivated for work and see the benefits for themselves.

Peace and fulfillment of humankind potential is organization's vision. Our international platform enables young people to discover and develop their potential in order to provide a leadership for a positive impact on society.

AIESEC provides its members with an integrated development experience comprised of leadership opportunities, international internships and participation in a global learning environment. It aims to develop gobally minded youth leaders.

Our general activities are based on non-formal and informal education, with a structured learning process each AIESEC member goes through, called the AIESEC Experience. It consists in four complete programmes that are defining the diverse environment each member is embracing.
- Team member programme. It is one of the most crucial ways in which members start on their path towards leadership development.In this phase they are introduced to a practical team experience, gain access to a global network and engage in practical hard skills development.
- Team leader programme. This experience culminate in their personal and professional development through the concept of teambuilding and management. Team leaders get to experience leading other members and guiding them in their work, thus becoming a crucial part of their development.
- Professional internship is the most intense learning experience that we offer and links together our global network. Each year, we provide over 60,000 members the challenging opportunity to live and work in a foreign country in areas of management, technology, education, and development.
Types of exchange internships:
Global internship programme. This programme offers internships that contribute to the professional development of a member and assist them to specialise in a certain field of work. For example, information technology, programming, engineering, finance, project or organizational management. They are normally long term in nature and involve working on diverse business projects and organisations, the companies that are participating in this programme is usually long-term partners.
Global community development programme. International internships are the most intense learning experience we offer and links together our global network.This programme encompasses cross-cultural positive impact through working abroad for social and community development projects that lead to self development and skill enhancement for the member undertaking the programme. Exchange participant takes part in development issues, social problems, teaching and volunteer work.

AIESEC Kaunas is a local committee of AIESEC Lithuania, legally independent and AIESEC Kaunas history began in 1991, when was established Vytautas Magnus University economists and managers union.

AIESEC Kaunas has own departments and fields of work. Two of the departments (Incoming Exchange and Outgoing Exchange) work on increasing the impact of our volunteers through an international volunteering experience. The Incoming Exchage department has the role of finding and bringing foreign volunteers to take part in the organization or on a specific project, while the Outgoing Exchange department works with local volunteers and project participants in order to promote international volunteering opportunities, both in other AIESEC organizations and on projects developed by NGOs. Moreover, AIESEC Kaunas is running two projects "If I were you" and "Different cultures- one world". Both projects missions are to interact youth into activities, new environment, encourage tolerance to all the people around the world and by this way motivate and inspire youth.
