of Catalonia. It's the county with the most inhabitants (183.000 inhabitants), but is considered a rural area. There is a great historical

the county. The most important sectors of economy are services, agriculture and industry. Because of the large tradition of agriculture,
especially in the citrus, there is a high percentage of immigration (25%). At the moment there are 110 different nationalities and 112
different religions. 27% of the poblation are youngsters.
The Punt Jove (Youth Point) is located in the Ferreries district, outside of the old town of Tortosa where most of the secundary
schools are located. The Youth information point has become a cultural space of encounters and hosting of the local community

Since obre't'ebre was set up, there is a close relation between the "Youth Point" from Tortosa's Council.
The relation started in 2006 when the founders from obre't'ebre contacted with the responsable of youth with the aim of organizing
international projects in the city, hosting and sending european volunteers and arranging other international projects.
It was at the beggining of 2009 when the youth worker showed interest and motivation with the hosting of volunteers. The international
volunteers give the oportunity to the younsters of Terres de l'Ebre land to discover a new european reality with its diversity. In the other
hand gives the organisations and young people the opportunity to open to new environmennts, to help to fight against racism and
xenofobia, as well as to promote interculturality and social values of tolerance, respect and solidarity.
Also, throught the hosting of volunteers we promote the development of innovative and creative projects in benefit of the hosting
organisation and in benefit of the environament where the young people develops their voluntary project.

In 2011 the workers from “Youth Point” have received a trainning about the running of the Youth in Action Program by obre't'ebre,
specifically about EVS. The person in charge with EVS in Catalonia organized a meeting with the responsables of obre't'ebre and the
youth worker to clarify doubts.

Obre't'ebre as a coordinating organisation will run the procedures of the project (redation of the project, handing over the
documents, apply for the grant, organizing the lodgement, language courses, mentorship, montly evaluations, trainning and final
evaluations).A part from the volunteer in theYouth Point, obre't'ebre will host other EVS volunteers in new projects in Tortosa and
Roquetes. The volunteers will share the lodgement and the initial trainning.
