Project Environment

Motivation and EVS experience

AEGEE-Tartu has been EVS sending and hosting organization for over five years now. During that time we have sent many people to do their EVS in different countries (Austria, Ireland etc.) and some people have shown interest to go volunteering through AEGEE-Tartu next year. As we have not been hosting any volunteers previously then our main interest would be that we are only a sending organization.
As AEGEE is an organization which promotes cultural exchange and cultural diversity, European cooperation and integration then through EVS the volunteers we would send would surely give their contribution to promote the above mentioned and at the same time EVS would be a very good opportunity to broaden one's horizon and at the same time do useful work somewhere in Europe.

Description of the organisation

AEGEE-Tartu is one of the two Estonian branches of the European Students' Forum YOUTH NGO and currently has 35 members from different backgrounds and disciplines. The local was founded in 1994 and since then has been growing and widening its horizon by organizing many cultural and educative events such as cultural nights, seminars, languages days, exchanges with different locals in Europe, Summer Universities - both on local and international level. It gives its members a chance to organize very different events for students both here in Tartu and all around Europe
AEGEE-Tartu has experience in organizing seminars and events on European awareness, culture, youth work and policies. Therefore, it is a capable sending organisation, ready to prepare and send voluteers dor different projects. As AEGEE-Tartu is a part of a large international organisation AEGEE, most of our work is international. All of the members are used to working in an international environment, they are tolerant and open-minded people. We also have the necessary skills to prepare new volunteers with the cultural experience.
We believe the experience is very beneficial for us and our members would make ecellent volunteers in any field.
